Injiri, meaning “real India”, historically stands for “real Madras checkered textiles” which were exported to West Africa back in the 18th century. The core essence of our brand is to facilitate a symbiosis of traditional Indian textile and folk garment designs of cultures and ethnicity across the globe.
Our process essentially revolves around a language that is intrinsic to a particular textile technique of a specific terrain. Textiles woven by several weavers and artisans in different parts and handloom units of the country gather at our workshop in Jaipur where the cutting, stitching and finishing are taken care of. Passing through the hands of many craftspeople from different parts of India including the spinners, dyers, weavers and tailors, each Injiri product keeps alive and reflects the love for the “ancient” and the quality of the “handmade”.
